Curating social science research to support Covid-19 response

The Covid-19 pandemic is a global crisis requiring rapid generation of policy-relevant evidence to inform decision-making as we move from crisis to recovery phase and beyond.

We’re working with the Covid Collective to curate and share social science research evidence on Covid-19 via the IDS KS API.

The Covid Collective is a global partnership of research organisations supporting the co-generation, curation, mobilisation and exchange of emerging evidence to inform the global response to the pandemic.

As part of this knowledge curation function the programme is bringing together bibliographic data on social science research publications from both Covid Collective partners and a range of other sources. By making this data available openly for re-use via the IDS KS API we aim to increase the global reach, visibility and accessibility of this evidence for those on the frontline of designing an effective response to the pandemic.

Accessing the data

The data can be accessed programmatically via the API endpoint or by using one of our CMS plugins to add content to your own websites and applications. You will need to sign up for an API key to access services.

See our updated plugins pages and documentation for full details of how to use the API. You can see a worked example of using our simple web-based widget to embed Cov-19 research documents in a web page in this example application .

The table below summarises the available categories and datasets that can be used to build queries and identify content on Covid-19. This list will be updated as new resources are added.
